Biography
Established in 2020, Propter Hawk is a dynamic rock and roll outfit hailing from the ambiguous corners of Toronto, Ontario. Led by the formidable Malorie Jo Blake as the lead vocalist, whose raw, powerful voice echoes the spirit of Janis Joplin and Stevie Nicks, infusing it with a timeless allure. Commixing an eclectic blend of influences, Propter Hawk channels the essence of Humble Pie, The Beatles, The Band, and Otis Redding, creating a unique sound that ignites the soul.
Emerging from the depths of the pandemic with a wealth of material, the band honed their craft at Pineship Sound in Toronto under the guidance of Carlin Nicholson and Mike O’Brien from the renowned Canadian rock band Zeus. Utilizing vintage gear and a live horn section, Propter Hawk crafted their debut, self-titled record, laying the foundation for their electrifying sound. With the release of their three singles ("Theatre Of The Whole World," "Telephone," and "Clean Old-Fashioned Hate"), and now a full-length album, this fiercely dedicated and experienced group of musicians, is poised to unleash their distorted vision of a new era of rock and roll upon the world.

Testimonials
Gilles Leblanc - Music Critic (Toronto Star/ROCKthusiast)
"Propter Hawk is Toronto indie meets classic Southern rock - Singer Malorie Blake's voice gives off serious Janis Joplin vibes and there are even HORNS. Cannot ROCKmend enough!"
Carlin Nicholson - Recording/Mixing Engineer (Pineship Sound), Professional Musician (Zeus)
"In my time recording, producing and mixing bands in Toronto and from all over the world – seldom do I come across a group that is as focused and with a sound as realized this early in their careers. Malorie (vocals) is an unprecedented raw talent that will stand shoulder to shoulder with any Canadian alumni of this genre."
